The Water's Edge

I glide from stone to stone
Arms stretched like wings
The cold lake water slowly pulses the shore
Glazing the rocks beneath my curled toes
The call of the loon pulls me further and further
Towards the only familiar boulder.
I sit upon this boulder
Staring into the fading horizon
Moonlight dances amongst the ripples
Growing stronger and stronger in the darkness
Crickets chirp and frogs croak
A smooth rock bursting with energy in my hand
I toss it counting each bounce until the final splash
It is here, that I wait for you
At the water's edge.

Matt Hamilton Saint Paul, Minnesota
Born and raised in Minnesota. I've been playing guitar for over 20 years. I'm an avid guitarist/songwriter and play in the thrash metal band Hex Vortices, melodic death metal band Gallowglass Scourge, and national touring act Thor. I write my own music on the side, which I call a reflection of my soul. I'm a fan of melody and peaceful acoustic guitar and combine both elements in my solo work. ... more
